“Built My Career from the Ground Up” – Davido Declares

Independence from Industry Godfathers, Afrobeats superstar Davido has asserted that his rise to fame was self-made, dismissing the notion that his success was tied to any industry godfather or major label executive.

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the award-winning singer reflected on his journey, crediting his achievements to divine grace, consistent quality music, and the unwavering loyalty of his fanbase.

“No co-sign, built from the ground up! Just God, good music and the best fans! Appreciate you guys fr [for real!” Davido wrote, further reinforcing his image as a self-driven artist who carved his path in the music industry.
