“It Was Mentally Draining” – BBNaija’s Doyin Says She Regrets Doing Nigerian Reality TV

Reality star and ex-BBNaija Season 7 housemate, Doyin David, has candidly shared how her time on the Big Brother Naija show affected her mentally and emotionally, describing it as an experience she wouldn’t repeat, not even for all the money in the world.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Doyin didn’t hold back as she opened up about the emotional toll that comes with being a public figure in Nigeria through reality TV. According to her, the show left her feeling “overexposed”and misrepresented, as producers often portray housemates in ways that don’t align with their real personalities.
“They show you how they want people to see you. And the impressions people walk away with are not always accurate,” she said.
Doyin also blamed the harsh, judgmental nature of Nigerian society for making the experience worse. She revealed she had been misunderstood and unfairly judged since her time on the show and, as a result, she’s completely done with reality TV, at least in Nigeria.
I wouldn’t do it again, not for any amount of money. Except it’s a reality show abroad. Then maybe I’d consider. But as for Nigeria? I’m not blessing them with my presence ever again,” she stated.
Despite gaining popularity from the show, Doyin’s comments have sparked fresh conversations online about mental health and the real cost of fame for reality stars in Nigeria.
