American R&B superstar Chris Brown has been granted bail to the tune of £5 million by a UK court, following charges linked to an alleged nightclub assault involving a music producer in London back in 2023.
Prosecutors allege that Brown was involved in what they described as an “unprovoked attack” that left producer Abraham Diaw with serious injuries after reportedly being struck with a tequila bottle.
The 35-year-old singer was not present at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday when Judge Tony Baumgartner approved the bail application.
Under the terms of his bail, Brown will be allowed to continue his international tour, which includes upcoming performances in the UK this June and July. The £5 million bail serves as a security bond—an assurance that could be forfeited if he fails to comply with the conditions set by the court.
