Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence on persistent rumours linking her to the controversial anonymous blog, Gistlover.
In a recent conversation with comedian AY Makun, the actress flatly denied being the person behind the faceless gossip platform, describing the accusations as baseless and deeply hurtful.
Responding to claims that she runs the blog, Iyabo expressed disbelief, questioning why anyone would think she’d use such a platform to spread damaging stories — especially those affecting her own family.
“Some people accused me of owning Gistlover. I was shocked when they said Iyabo Ojo is Gistlover. If I were, would I post about my life and also drag my daughter?” she asked.
Iyabo went on to explain that many of the blog’s scoops come from people close to celebrities, who often leak both true and false information out of spite or carelessness.
“One thing I’ve discovered is that it’s the people close to you who take your information to Gistlover. Even when it’s wrong, they still send it,” she said.
She further dismissed the notion that she would risk her reputation or her daughter’s dignity for attention. “To say I’d post rubbish about myself — threesomes and all — just to destroy my name? For what? For money? For popularity? It makes no sense.”
Her comments come amid ongoing debates over the source and ethics of the Gistlover blog, which has gained notoriety for exposing the private lives of public figures across Nigeria.
