Seyi Law Slams ‘Hypocritical’ Celebs, Dares Tunde Ednut to Deny President Tinubu Called Him on His Birthday

Popular Nigerian comedian and All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter, Seyi Law, has sparked a new wave of controversy online after calling out some public figures he accused of double standards regarding their relationship with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a post shared via his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle, Seyi Law reacted to the backlash following the visit of celebrities like Cubana Chief Priest, Ubi Franklin, and Davido to President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja. He said many of those who publicly criticise the government are privately seeking favours and validation from the same administration.
The comedian, who has long defended Tinubu, specifically mentioned popular blogger Tunde Ednut. According to Seyi Law, President Tinubu personally called Tunde Ednut to wish him a happy birthday—a gesture he claimed left Tunde excited and in disbelief.
He wrote:
“Let Tunde Ednut come and deny that he was not excited when Mr. President called him on his birthday, and he was calling people in Nigeria that he couldn’t believe it. Let him deny it and swear with his future children’s destiny if it didn’t happen.”
Seyi Law accused such figures of “pandering to the mob online” while secretly “hustling behind” for recognition and benefits.
“God will judge all our hypocrisy. I say again that time will judge us all,” he added.
His post has since drawn mixed reactions, reigniting discussions on transparency and integrity in the Nigerian entertainment and political spheres.
