“Alex Ekubo Is Not Sick, Just Needed a Break” – Actor Stanley Ontop Debunks Rumours, Speaks on Mental Health

Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop has cleared the air concerning the whereabouts and well-being of fellow actor Alex Ekubo, who has been noticeably absent from social media since December 30, 2024.
Rumours had begun circulating online suggesting that Ekubo might be battling a serious illness, prompting concern from fans and industry watchers. However, Stanley Ontop took to Instagram on Tuesday to refute those claims, assuring the public that the actor is perfectly healthy.
According to Stanley, Ekubo decided to take a step back from social media and work due to the overwhelming toxicity and negativity he was experiencing online. He emphasized that the actor is doing well and only needed time to focus on his mental health.
“If you all remember in February I posted his picture and was asking about him. @alexxekubo is very fine and he’s doing great,” Stanley wrote. “He just took time from social media and work. The media was too toxic on him so he decided to give you guys some space. Alex is good 100.”
Stanley further stressed the importance of mental health, stating, “Alex is coming back to this media strong and happy. Alex is not sick as being circulated by some mischievous elements. Alex, we await your return. Depression is real.”
His post served as both an update and a gentle reminder about the pressures public figures face and the importance of giving space when needed.
