Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has voiced concern over the negative impact of social media on many Nigerians.
The ‘Reason With Me’ crooner warned that while many users may enjoy trending and chasing clout online, their actions could lead to lasting regrets.
Taking to his Instastory, Rudeboy wrote:
“Social media is going to destroy a lot of people… You might think it’s just cruise, clout, or to trend… Your eye go clear.”
Despite the growing influence of social platforms in Nigeria, social media use remains largely unregulated. This has led to increasing calls for oversight, especially amid rising cases of cyberbullying, fake news, hate speech, and defamation.
