Popular Nigerian singer, Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe , professionally known as Ayra Starr, has voiced her frustration over persistent online bullying, calling out trolls who deliberately target and misinterpret her actions.
The Mavin Records star, best known for her hit single “Commas”, took to the social media platform X on Monday to express her growing irritation with the constant online attacks.
In a strongly-worded post, Ayra accused critics of intentionally bullying her and turning her into a scapegoat, urging them to redirect their energy to more meaningful national issues.
“There’s nothing I can do nor say to people that intentionally want to bully and misunderstand me every time,” she wrote. “You’ve found a scapegoat abi? Focus on issues that actually matter and leave me tf alone.”
Ayra Starr, known for her bold style and chart-topping tracks, has often been a topic of online conversations, with her fashion choices and statements regularly scrutinized. Her latest outburst underscores the emotional toll such negativity can have on public figures, especially young artists navigating fame in the digital age.
Fans have since rallied in her support, calling for empathy and respect for artists’ mental well-being in the face of relentless online trolling.
