“End the Madness Now!” — Cubana Chief Priest Calls on Tinubu to Ban Open Grazing Amid Benue Killings

Renowned Nigerian nightlife entrepreneur and socialite, Okechukwu Pascal, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has added his voice to the growing chorus of Nigerians demanding a permanent end to open grazing in the country.

In the wake of the recent tragic massacre in Benue State, where suspected herdsmen allegedly attacked communities, leaving many dead and several displaced, Chief Priest took to Instagram to express outrage and call for urgent government intervention.

Addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directly in a passionate social media post, the celebrity barman urged the presidency to issue an immediate ban on public grazing, advocating instead for ranching as a safer, more organised alternative.

“My President, make that order now!!! End public grazing. The level of damage done is brutal. This madness has to stop. Feed your cattle in your ranches,” he wrote.

Beyond policy, Chief Priest also sent a strong message to the people of Benue, encouraging them to prioritise their safety and defend their communities from continued attacks.

“Benue people, sharpen your sword

. No gree for anybody to kpai you. To defend yourselves no be crime!!!”

His comments reflect rising frustration among Nigerians over the federal government’s perceived silence and inaction in the face of escalating violence in the Middle Belt, particularly in agrarian states like Benue, which has suffered numerous attacks linked to herder-farmer conflicts.

The entrepreneur’s call for self-defence and sustainable agricultural practices resonates with many who believe that open grazing, in today’s modern society, is both outdated and dangerous.

As more public figures speak out, the pressure mounts on the government to adopt decisive measures that will end the cycle of violence and ensure lasting peace for affected communities.
