Davido
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has hit back at a social media user who accused him of encouraging cultism and “doing too much” online.
The drama unfolded on X (formerly Twitter), where a user with the handle @vardysteveayo, who claimed to be a longtime fan of the singer, called him out publicly. According to the post, the fan expressed deep disappointment in Davido’s recent actions, alleging that the artist’s behaviour could be interpreted as glorifying cult-related activities.
The post read in part, “You’ve gone too far, OBO. You’re now indirectly promoting cultism. People look up to you, and this sends the wrong message. Sadly, some fans still support you even when you’re overdoing things.”
While the comment generated mixed reactions across the platform, Davido didn’t hold back in his response. In typical fashion, the singer clapped back with a brief but dismissive retort:
“That one nah your papa business.”
The statement sparked further debate among fans and critics alike, with some defending the artist’s right to express himself, while others echoed concerns about the influence celebrities have on youth culture.
Davido, who is no stranger to controversy, has often been vocal and unfiltered on social media. His unapologetic reply underscores his confidence and unwillingness to entertain public judgment over his style and affiliations.
