What was meant to be a night of celebration quickly turned into a terrifying brush with death for popular Nigerian TikTok couple, Peace Pever (aka Purple Speedy) and Chinye Elijah (aka Crispdal), after they were involved in a ghastly car accident shortly after attending the Trendupp Awards.

Crispdal had just been honoured with the coveted “Force of TikTok” award at the event, a major milestone in his content creation journey. However, just hours after the applause and flashing cameras, the couple found themselves clinging to life as their vehicle was mangled in a serious crash on their way home.

In an emotional Instagram post, Crispdal shared a video of the wrecked car and opened up about the terrifying ordeal, writing:

“My people, I’m sorry I haven’t posted about my win. I won the Force of TikTok at the Trendupp Awards yesterday, but the devil tried to steal our joy on our way back. We were involved in a terrible accident that almost claimed our lives, but we serve a living God and we are heavily defended. I’ll post my win later today, but for now help me thank God for life!”

Purple Speedy also confirmed the incident on her Instagram story, echoing the same sentiment of gratitude.

“Hey guys, sorry we haven’t posted anything yet. God spared our lives on our way back from the Trendupp Awards yesterday. All I can say is thank you Lord for the gift of life.”

Though the details of the crash remain unclear, fans and fellow creators have flooded their pages with messages of support and relief. For the couple, the moment serves as a powerful reminder that even in the height of success, life’s fragility can never be taken for granted.

The accident has transformed what should have been a moment of professional triumph into a deeply humbling experience—one that has brought renewed appreciation for life and the protection they believe only God could have provided.
