Media personality and talent manager Toyosi Etim-Effiong has weighed in on the viral cheating scandal involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s head of HR, Kristin Cabot.
The scandal came to light in an unexpected and very public way during a Coldplay concert, when lead singer Chris Martin unknowingly highlighted the pair on the venue’s kiss cam. The moment, meant to be lighthearted, quickly spread online as viewers recognised the individuals and revealed their secret affair.
Reacting to the incident, Toyosi—who is married to Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong—shared her thoughts via Instagram. A mother of three, Toyosi, expressed both sympathy and disappointment over the situation.
She spoke candidly about the challenges of maintaining self-control in today’s world and acknowledged human vulnerability when it comes to making difficult moral choices. Quoting biblical principles, she reflected on how people are often drawn to what is wrong, despite knowing better.
Rather than join the wave of public mockery, Toyosi called for compassion, urging her followers to extend grace, pray for those involved, and resist the urge to shame others.
“Be kind. Show mercy. We’re all human,” she wrote, emphasising the need for empathy over judgment.
