Veteran Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey, has revealed that Afrobeats superstar Wizkid played a key role in introducing him to Instagram. The music legend shared the story during a video call with producer Maleek Berry, reflecting on how he got started on the popular social media platform.
Daddy Showkey recounted that the journey began during a visit to Wizkid’s home a few years ago. At the time, he discovered he was trending online after Wizkid had made a post about him. Curious about what Instagram was and how it worked, he turned to the younger artist for help.
Wizkid not only explained the platform but also personally helped him open his Instagram account. Daddy Showkey added that fellow artist KCee later taught him how to use the app more effectively, providing useful tips on how to engage with the platform.
Expressing gratitude to both stars, Daddy Showkey praised them for their support and for helping him reach a wider audience through social media.
“I had a special call today from @maleekberry and I shared a story of how @wizkidayo introduced me and also helped me open my Instagram account, and how @iam\_kcee also shared knowledge on how to navigate the app,” he wrote on Instagram. “Life is about learning, and applying the knowledge is key to the life we live now.”
