Popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has shared the deeply personal journey behind his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity. He made this known during a live chat with fans, where he recounted painful memories from his early years in a Quranic school, also known as Ile Kewu.
The social media sensation revealed that his time at the Quranic school was marked by severe punishment and harsh treatment, which left deep emotional scars. These difficult experiences, he explained, caused him to distance himself from Islam gradually.
“I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian. I go to church,” he stated. “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school. That’s why I stopped going.”
Peller noted that the trauma he endured as a child while learning the Quran turned him away from religious education altogether. Over time, he began to explore a new spiritual path, ultimately embracing Christianity and becoming an active member of a church.
