Iyabo Ojo Declares Break from Ancestral Marital Struggles at Daughter Priscilla’s Baby Shower

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has made a powerful statement regarding her daughter Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala’s marriage, asserting that the cycle of failed relationships within their family has come to an end.

This emotional moment took place during Priscilla’s baby shower, which was held in Canada. Priscilla, who tied the knot with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in April 2025, recently announced that the couple is expecting their first child.

While addressing guests at the celebration, Iyabo Ojo expressed deep confidence in her daughter’s future, declaring that she had paid the price spiritually for Priscilla’s marriage to succeed. She stated that any negative marital pattern in their bloodline has been broken with her.

“We women must begin to prophesy good things into the lives of our children,” she said. “Don’t believe that because something happened to your mother or to you, it must happen to your children. Break it. There is something called an ancestral curse. You must break and stop it.”

Iyabo further prayed that Priscilla’s marriage would flourish, stating that she would grow old with her husband, raise her children in love and peace, and enjoy the blessings of a stable home.

“Priscilla, your marriage will work. You will grow old with your husband—he will be beside you from the days of your youth till your old age. You will be with your children because you have married right, the bone of your bones, the flesh of your flesh,” she declared. “If mine didn’t work, yours will. I have paid that sacrifice for yours to work.”
