Nigerian influencer Idowu Adeyemi, popularly known as Yhemo Lee, has weighed in on the recent viral altercation between Ibom Air hostess and passenger Comfort Emmanson.

In a post on Instagram, Yhemo Lee revealed that he had previously encountered the same hostess on two separate occasions and found her demeanour consistently unfriendly. According to him, her stern facial expression and lack of warmth created an uncomfortable atmosphere for passengers.

“Person mama wey suppose be conductor or dey drive Maruwa na him una employ as air hostess? I’ve never seen any hostess with that kind of strong face. Barely smiled in the two cases I’ve seen. If she’s depressed and going through stuff, let her sit down at home! I no fit pay half a million for local flight make I enter make you dey strong face for me like na me be your problem,” he wrote.

Yhemo Lee argued that flight attendants play a vital role in shaping the travel experience, particularly on local flights where passengers pay high fares. He stressed that politeness, a friendly tone, and a welcoming smile make travellers more willing to comply with instructions.

“My own is let Comfort on ring light and tender her own apology too. We travel every now and then and hostesses ask politely with smiles on their faces asking you to turn off your device. E go sweet you to off self. You can’t just come to me dey command me like say na your papa book flight for me. Tone and mood is very essential during communication,” he added.

While criticising the hostess’s conduct, Yhemo Lee also called for fairness, saying Comfort Emmanson should be allowed to share her side of the story and apologise if necessary. He maintained that both airline staff behaviour and passenger actions must be addressed to prevent similar controversies in the future.
