Comedian Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, has narrated how he narrowly escaped death when a car he was in suddenly caught fire.
The 42 year old entertainer shared the terrifying incident on Instagram on Wednesday, describing it as nothing short of divine intervention.
According to him, the ordeal began on Saturday when his vehicle suffered a burst tyre while he was driving on the highway.
He recalled: “So I had an event on Saturday, after escaping the accident from the bursted tyre while on the highway. I fortunately got another car that I took to the venue right on the spot of the accident.”
But the relief was short-lived. On arriving at the venue, he stayed inside the replacement vehicle to change his outfit, unaware that the fuel tank, which was half full, had already caught fire.
“Arriving the venue, I was changing my outfit in the car not knowing the tank of the car that contains fuel up to the half of the tank already caught fire,” he explained.
Miraculously, the car did not explode while he was still inside, even though flames were already spreading.
“This is my testimony, I can’t explain how and where the fuel passed that the car did not explode while I was inside the car despite the fact that there was physical fire that everyone was trying to put out after I highlighted from the car and they discovered,” he added.
Onlookers initially thought the blaze came from an electrical fault. Attempts with fire extinguishers failed, forcing people to push the burning car out of the event centre to prevent more damage.
“When there was no more options… they decided to push the car out of the event centre so the burning won’t affect other cars. While they abandoned the car expecting it to explode, another man no one could describe came with an industrial fire extinguisher, quenched the fire all by himself and left,” he narrated.
Reflecting on the experience, the skitmaker, who leads the Instagram Parish Ministry (IPM), expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life.
“When God decides to save, even rules are suspended… I was sitting inside the fire that could have ended a Season of The Prophet with the oil of Gladness. TO GOD ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY FOREVER!!!”
