Omotola Jalade says the success of her marriage is due to her husband’s selflessness
Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has said that it would be unthinkable for her husband, Matthew Ekeinde, to walk away from their marriage.
She made this known during a podcast session with Afropolitan podcast, where she made mention that divorce has never been an option in her 30yrs of marriage.
The movie star went on to say that the success of her marriage is tied to her husband’s selflessness, absence of ego, and the deep trust they share.
According to her, she has never fought her husband over a girl making it clear that she doesn’t have such problems.” I’ve been married to him for over 30 years, and and I have never fought with a girl over him. I don’t have those kinds of problems. He doesn’t bother me. If I need to go do my work, he trusts me completely, and I trust him.” She said
She went further to emphasize that marriage is a deeply personal matter and her perspective shouldn’t be seen as imposing a standard. She said, “Divorce isn’t an option for me. That doesn’t mean it isn’t an option for you. I am not against divorce; I just believe that marriage is a very personal matter. My marriage can never be the same as yours.
“No two marriages are alike because no two people are alike. The ingredients might not be the same.”
The actress further explained that leaving the marriage would be nearly impossible, adding that even if she walked away from her union, she would remain a part of his life, making it difficult for anyone else to come between them.
