Nigerian singer Omah lay opens up on a recent heart break which inspired one of the songs on his upcoming album.
He shared his experience on the short- lived relationship that ended painfully during the listening party of his new album, Clarity of Mind.
He revealed that the relationship which only lasted two months ended while Justin Bieber was performing at the Grammys Awards which made the situation complicated for him.
The timing of the split meant that he could not fully enjoy the event or focus on the music, as his mind was preoccupied with personal heartbreak.
Omah lay said, that, although the relationship lasted for two months,he invested deeply in it and even imagined a future with a child.
He also made mention that the experience inspired the track “Don’t Love Me”on his upcoming album, reflecting his struggle to balance love and personal happiness.
“I thought it was the right relationship and I was going to have a baby. Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammy and Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup and an embarrassing moment. I wasn’t even present at the Grammys because even before the show, I had already started having issues in my relationship.
“This was only a two-month-old relationship, but I gave it my all. I do not know how to do two things at a time. When I am into one thing, all of me is into that. My song ‘Don’t Love Me’ is me saying, let us enjoy this moment, but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m going to leave.”he said
