From bold red carpet moments to big wins: One battle after another reigns supreme in the 98th Oscar Awards

The biggest names in global cinema gathered in Dolby Theatre on Sunday, 15th of March 2026 for the 98th edition of the Academy Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements in film.
The event began with celebrities gracing the red carpet in bold, colourful statements and beautifully structured garments.
One Battle After Another’s Chase Infiniti , who has announced herself as both a major actress and a fashion icon this year, wore a lavender custom Louis Vuitton gown.
British actress Wunmi Mosaku, nominated for best supporting actress for Sinners, was seen in a glittering gown with a cut-out shoulder.
Hamnet star Jessie Buckley capped off an awards campaign for the ages in red and pink
Rose Byrne, who was nominated for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, wore a black custom Dior dress embroidered with an intricate floral pattern.
Best actress nominee Emma Stone arrived in a shimmering oyster Louis Vuitton gown while Teyana Taylor, stormed the carpet in a black-and-white custom Chanel.
The men were not left out with Michael B Jordan looking classic in his all black outfit which blends classic tailoring with a modern slightly edging twist.
Pedro Pascal’s oversized white floral brooch was so large he had no room for his bow tie or tuxedo.
The award night was hosted by American influential television host Conan O’Brien.
The night’s top honour, Best Picture, was awarded to One battle after another, which also secured multiple awards across major categories, cementing its place as the standout production of the year.
In the acting category, Michael B. Jordan took home the award for Best Actor for an impressive performance in Sinners, while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her remarkable role in Hamnet.
The Best Supporting Actor award went to Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) , while Amy Madigan – Weapons claimed Best Supporting Actress.
In directing, Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another) was honoured with the Best Director award for outstanding storytelling and cinematic vision.
Other notable wins included awards for screenplay, cinematography, and international feature film, highlighting the diversity and creativity of filmmakers across the world.
The ceremony also featured memorable performances, emotional acceptance speeches, and tributes to industry icons, making it a night to remember in Hollywood.
