Popular Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, famously known for her role as Toyo Baby in the hit series Jenifa’s Diary, has issued a strong spiritual warning to her fans, recounting a chilling online experience that she believes nearly led her into the occult.
In a video shared via her Instagram page, Olayode revealed how a seemingly innocent ad on her phone almost drew her into witchcraft. The ad asked, “Have you ever broken a bone before?”—a question she clicked out of curiosity. However, immediately after accessing the link, she said she was overwhelmed by a strange and unsettling spiritual force that compelled her to shut it down instantly.
Reflecting on the incident, the actress described it as a wake-up call, warning that many online activities that appear harmless or entertaining could be covert entry points into dark spiritual realms.
“Witchcraft is everywhere,” she said. “It’s no longer hiding behind midnight rituals or forest gatherings. It’s now trendy, attractive, and disguised as curiosity, enlightenment, or fun.”
Juliana warned her followers to avoid online trends that include questions like “Do you know who you were in a past life?”, tarot readings, incense rituals, and certain movies or songs she believes carry spiritual implications. She emphasised that what people watch, listen to, and engage with can unknowingly expose them to negative spiritual influences.
“Some people are already spiritually initiated and don’t even know it,” she said. “It might have happened through a movie, a song, a novel, or even a visit to a so-called ‘witchcraft-themed’ store with friends. Now they’re battling anxiety, nightmares, depression, strange voices, or fear—and they can’t explain why.”
In her passionate message, Olayode urged her fans to be more spiritually vigilant and discerning in their daily lives. She highlighted the importance of guarding one’s “gates”—the eyes, ears, and mind—against harmful spiritual content.
“You don’t need to click a link to be affected physically. Exposure alone is sometimes enough. Be careful what you consume, be careful what church you attend, be careful about spiritual gatherings—always be discerning.”
Quoting Acts 16:16–18, the actress emphasised that not all supernatural revelations originate from a godly source, warning against being deceived by seemingly accurate spiritual insights that may stem from the wrong spirit.
In her caption, she wrote:
“Witchcraft is everywhere these days. They’re not hiding anymore. It looks good, but not everything that looks good is truly good. Guard your heart, your spirit, and your space. The devil is working overtime.”
She concluded by reminding her audience that the only true path to God is through Jesus Christ, urging anyone seeking a relationship with God to come through His Son.
