In celebration of Workers’ Day, the Federal Government has designated Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who underscored the critical role of peace in driving industrial growth and economic progress.
The declaration, conveyed through a statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, included commendations for Nigerian workers. Dr. Tunji-Ojo applauded their unwavering commitment and sacrifices, noting their vital contributions to national development and Nigeria’s global image.
He further emphasised the importance of labour, urging workers across all sectors to remain dedicated and embrace innovation to boost productivity and support the country’s advancement.
